Air pollution has a significant and often harmful impact on human health. It consists of harmful substances like particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and ozone, which are released from vehicles, factories, and burning fossil fuels. When inhaled, these pollutants can irritate the respiratory system, leading to conditions like asthma, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Long-term exposure increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, and even certain cancers.

Children, the elderly, and individuals with pre-existing health conditions are especially vulnerable. Air pollution also affects the brain, potentially contributing to cognitive decline and mental health issues. Moreover, polluted air weakens the immune system, making the body more susceptible to infections. While governments play a vital role in regulating emissions, individuals can protect themselves by monitoring air quality, wearing masks, and supporting clean energy initiatives. Reducing air pollution is essential for a healthier and longer life for all.
