Davis Darvish, a Santa Monica resident, was arrested on Saturday after allegedly making a threat while speaking to security at the Agua Caliente Casino, located about 17 miles from the Coachella music festival site. The annual event, drawing 125,000 attendees daily, heightened concerns. Cathedral City police were alerted just before 11 a.m., prompting a swift response. Officers tracked Darvish’s Tesla through the Coachella Valley using FLOCK ALPR (automated number plate recognition) technology, according to ABC News.

By 12:11 p.m., Palm Springs police had located and detained him, handing over the investigation to Cathedral City detectives. Although no weapons, explosives, or bomb-making materials were found in Darvish’s possession or vehicle, authorities continued to treat the threat seriously. He remains in custody at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio, with bail set at $1 million.
Police have not released further details about the nature of the threat or potential charges.
