An Israeli airstrike on a residential building in Beirut’s southern suburbs early Tuesday killed at least three people and injured seven others, Lebanon’s health ministry confirmed. The attack, which struck the Dahieh neighborhood—considered a Hezbollah stronghold—occurred without prior warning, sending shockwaves through the city during Eid al-Fitr.

Israel’s military stated the strike targeted a Hezbollah member accused of aiding Hamas in planning attacks. The operation, coordinated with Shin Bet, followed a similar airstrike on Friday, after rockets were fired from Lebanon—an attack Hezbollah denied involvement in.
Since the ceasefire in November, Israel has continued strikes in southern and eastern Lebanon, citing Hezbollah violations. Lebanon’s government has urged international intervention, demanding Israel withdraw from occupied positions. Hezbollah has yet to officially respond, but its deputy leader warned on Saturday that if attacks persist, the group may resort to “other alternatives.” Rising tensions threaten to destabilize the fragile truce.
